Dr. Baum knew from early on he wanted to be a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. He studied acupuncture at SW Acupuncture college, in Santa Fe, NM. While in acupuncture school he was certified in Dr. Upledger Cranial Sacral therapy. He started working in an Osteopathic  office doing cranial sacral treatments while he was working through school. Once in his personal practice, he continued these treatment modalities for a few years, working with repetitive injuries, generally work related like carpel tunnel, neck injury, and pain control work.

In 1998, Dr. Baum started to focus on allergies and immunity. His path was changed by his father’s severe allergies to juniper. Looking for a solution, he was led to the NAET, Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Technique. Almost overnight his practice went from general acupuncture to allergy and pain relief.

In 2002 Dr. Baum added the BioSet system to his practice as a way to further more options for his patients.  He started with applied kinesiology, having years of experience in muscle testing. In 2011 he implemented the IQS computer system instead of muscle testing. The IQS is a computer generated bio-feedback system that uses feedback from the skin and is generally more accurate then muscle testing. Dr. Baum’s practice is dedicated to improving the quality of life for each patient and tailors his treatment to your body’s specific needs. The goal is to achieve health and balance for all patients.

Licensed in New Mexico with a Doctorate of Oriental Medicine (D.O.M.) and a National Diplomate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) since 1992, Dr. Baum uses his expertise offering different treatment modalities.

Though trained in traditional Chinese Medicine, Dr. Baum not only implements Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs, he can also incorporate Bowen, NET, Cranial Sacral, and BioSET into his treatment plan if necessary. Watch Dr. Baum using BioSet.

Dr. Baum is married (20 years), and has 2 children, 15 and 19 with him in Rio Rancho. His practice focuses on families as he understands the needs of holistic family care.
